The Southern Cross Soloists had its first concert, City of Lights: From Paris with Love, from its QPAC 2023 season. The enchanting program explored the allure of the most romantic city in the world, Paris, and featured music by composers the city has inspired including Gluck, Mozart and Prokofiev and well as revered French masters Debussy and Ravel. The concert showcased two young Brisbane artists, Courtenay Cleary (violin) and Guillaume Wang (Cello). It also starred Russian born Australian-based featured soloist and internationally acclaimed pianist Konstantin Shamray, who amazed the audience in the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.4 playing with only his left hand and no sheet music.
