Born in Kolkata, and raised in sunny Brisbane, Samudranil ‘Sam’ Chatterjee is an international traveler, chasing his creative passions.

Growing up in West End, Sam attended Brisbane State High School before going on to pursue film at Griffith Film School in South Brisbane. During his time at Griffith, Sam also worked on projects such as Thor:Ragnarok, The Shallows and Mako Mermaids, among shooting short films and narratives.

In 2016, Sam was accepted at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles into its competitive Cinematography program. His lastest short film Outdooring has just been selected into the Official Selection at South by Southwest Conference (SXSW) 2019 as well as the Outfest Fusion Film Festival, playing at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.

Sam has move than a dozen narrative works which include short films and feature length series. Aside from film making, Sam enjoys playing the saxophone, and is fluent in Bengali and Hindi. He is currently residing in Los Angeles, and starts pre-production on two feature length projects this year.
