Brisbane’s leading classical musicians are teaming up for an exciting return to live performance. World-class guitarist Karin Schaupp, Queensland’s favourite Baritone Jason Barry-Smith and many more fantastic local artists are joining Ensemble Q at the inaugural West End Chamber Music Festival at a brilliant new venue – Sideshow on Vulture Street.

Three exclusive, intimate concerts will be staged in this new and relaxed creative hub. At The Sideshow, guests can choose something delicious from the bar and kitchen, sit in their household groups (safely socially distanced from other audience members) and not only hear the music, but feel it.

The audience is limited to 35 per concert and tickets are already selling fast! CONCERT 1 on FRIDAY 20 NOV 6pm features the incredible world renowned classical guitarist Karin Schaupp. Karin will begin the evening with guitar solos from Europe and Australia. Joined in the second half by Trish Dean, the pair will take listeners on a sensual journey through South America.

CONCERT 2 on SATURDAY 21 NOV 7pm features Trish and Paul Dean in an exploration of Bach’s Two Part Inventions and some specially commissioned modern counterparts. Paul Dean will set the scene with a fantastic performance of Stravinsky’s three pieces for solo clarinet, and our extraordinary violinist Natsuko Yoshimoto will join Trish for the Kodaly Duo.

CONCERT 3 on SUNDAY 22 NOV 3pm is going to be so much fun! The incredible Jason Barry-Smith joins Ensemble Q while we take you on a trip to Austria to hear Webern’s heartbreaking Langsammer Satz for string quartet, the Mozart clarinet quintet (did we say bliss?) and some brilliant selections of Mozart operatic arias with Jason. Featuring Natsuko Yoshimoto, Imants Larsens, Paul Dean, Trish Dean, and Jason Barry-Smith.
